The Founder
Hi there! I’m Karla, the creator behind Introspective.
I want to tell you a little bit about where this brand came from—and why it means so much to me. Introspective was born from my own struggle, a struggle that started long before motherhood. It started when I moved to the U.S. as a 9-year-old, not speaking a word of English, surrounded by kids who didn’t look like me, didn’t speak like me, and made me feel like I didn’t belong.
The bullying was hard, the loneliness even harder. I felt like I had to change myself to fit in, but no matter how much I tried, I always felt like I was falling short. It took me years to realize that the problem wasn’t me—it was the world around me, and the standards I was trying to live up to.
Then I had my daughters. I thought I was ready for motherhood, but nothing could prepare me for how lost I would feel after giving birth. I had never truly found my confidence, and now I had completely lost myself in the process of being a mom. I stopped taking care of myself—physically, mentally, emotionally—and every day felt like I was drowning.
But one day, I decided to make a change. I started working out, not to fix my body, but to fix my mind. That decision was the turning point. Slowly, I began to rediscover the woman I had lost.
I realized I wasn’t alone in this struggle. I knew there were other women out there who had been through the same thing. So, I created Introspective—a brand dedicated to empowering women to reclaim their confidence, to remind them that they don’t have to lose themselves in the process of becoming mothers, partners, or anything else. You deserve to feel good about yourself, and you deserve to show up for you.
This brand is my reminder to you that you are enough, just as you are. And you don’t have to do it alone.
